Levens Hall
Located at the gateway to the Lake District National Park, five miles south of Kendal in Cumbria, Levens Hall has grown from a stark, imposing Pele Tower built c1250-1300, into a warm and welcoming family home. We invite you to marvel at this beautiful privately-owned house and gardens, home to the world's oldest topiary gardens and centre of a thriving 9,500-acre agricultural estate which provides much of the produce for our cafe, Levens Kitchen .
Whether you are visiting as an individual, a couple, a family or part of a group, you will find plenty to do and see here.
Levens Deer Park
Open all year round, the marked public footpaths that make their way through privately owned Levens Deer Park reveal some of the most beautiful and timeless scenery in the country – a haven for wildlife and a breath of peace and tranquillity in a busy world. To avoid disturbing either, we ask that visitors stay on the footpaths and that dogs are kept on a lead at all times.
Landscaped some 300 years ago at the same time as the gardens, Levens Deer Park is home to a herd of black fallow deer, and a herd of rare-breed Bagot goats. With their distinctive white coats, black faces and large curved horns, the goats are believed to be Britain’s oldest breed of goat with a documented ancestry.
Levens Deer Park is located opposite the main entrance to Levens Hall and can be accessed on either side of Levens Bridge.
